Once a week, every Monday, a lecture on certain pre-assigned topics are given by a resident with the presence of all residents and consultants as well as the postgraduate interns assigned in the department.

After the lecture, a weekly audit of all emergency and elective surgeries for charity anf pay patients is done by the assigned residents with the presence of all residents and consultants. Mortalities and morbidities related to anesthesia are also discussed at this time.

Aside from that, regular inter-hospital activities such as case presentations enables the department to interact with consultant and residents practicing in other training hospitals within the Southern Mindanao Chapter of the Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists. Presently, participating hospitals include the Davao Medical Hospital, Davao Doctor's Hospital and the Davao Regional Hospital situated in Tagum.

Moreover, clinical lectures and wet clinics are also hosted by the department in cooperation with the Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists. Twice a year, consultants are residents attend conventions namely, midyear and annual are held in certain areas in the country.

The department is also participating in outreach program of the Surgery and Ophthalmology Departments in cooperation with the Department of Health.
