Objectives
General Objectives
The trust of the training program of the Department of Internal Medicine
of the Davao Medical Center is aimed at producing and molding a General
Internist in line with the Philippine College of Physicians' Visions2005
of a world class organization of physician that sets the highest standards
and ethical ideals in the practice of Internal Medicine and its Mission
to lead in setting the highest standards in medical diagnosis, treatment
prevention and service in the Philippines by providing an environment
that promotes ethical, high quality and cost-effective medical are, providing
stimulus, advice and incentives for research and publication, putting
a premium on excellence, competence and compassion and putting service
above gain.
In cognizant to the MISSION VISION of the Davao Medical Center (DMC),
its program is geared towards contributing in making DMC truly a hospital
of the people, by the people and for the people and a center of excellence
for the southern Philippines and the EAGA region.
Department Objectives
The Departmnet of Internal Medicine has been an accredited member of
the Philippine College of Physicians since 1981 with the following objectives:
- To provide optimum patient care at all times
- To develop professional and skilled internist and prepare them for
specialization in Internal Medicine with the ultimate goal of becoming
Fellows of the Philippine College of Physicians.
- To stimulate and develop aptitudes for investigation and research.
- To develop desirable attitudes of professionalism, social consciousness
and civic mindedness.
- To train medical students and post-graduate interns to become compliant
physicians.
