Section of Rheumatology and Immunology

General Policies and Guidelines

  1. All patients with rheumatic diseases must be admitted under the Section of Rheumatology.
  2. All referrals of patients to the Section of Rheumatology must be channelled to the residents under the section. The latter will be the one to refer the patients to the consultant, except in cases of emergency or in instances where the residents are not available.
  3. The Consultant must be informed at all times of all rheumatic cases admitted under the section, and must always be updated as to the progress of the patients.
  4. The Data Base of the Section of Rheumatology must be used and filled up in all patients with rheumatic diseases. All entries therein must be filled up completely and promptly.
  5. Rheumatology conferences is scheduled once a month (every 1st Wednesday) by the residents in charged.
  6. Rheumatology Clinic is scheduled every 2nd Wednesday afternoon of the month where all OPD connective tissue diseases e.g. SLE and rheumatoid arthritis are seen and followed up.
  7. All problems that may arise concerning the Section of Rheumatology must be referred to the Section Chief.
