Policies on Schedule and Billing of Patients
- Patient's schedule should be coursed through a hemodialysis nurse
- The unit with it's 5 machines can accomodate a maximum of 10 patients
a day except on Wednesday wherein only 6 -8 patients can be accomodated.
Vacant slots are intended for ARF cases.
- The starting time of hemodialysis is 7:00-7:45 A.M. and 12:00 - 1:00
P.M. Patients are required to be present before 7:45 A.M. and before
1: 00 P.M..Patients arriving after the said time shall get a corresponding
time reduction in the duration of hemodialysis.
- The official consent form should be signed on the first day of hemodialysis.
For the succeeding hemodialysis, the patient or his/her nearest kin
signs the consent on the space provided for in the hemodialysis sheet.
- New CRF patients shall be listed in the waiting and can be accomodated
on first come, first serve basis
- The dialyzer and machines intended for patients who are scheduled
for the day shall be prepared 30 minutes to one hour before patient
arrives in the unit to reduce waiting time. In the event wherein the
patient is absent without prior notice or arrangement with the head
nurse or the charge nurse, the patient shall be charged the expenses
incurred and have to replaced the supplies used in the preparation of
his/her dialyzer. Absences on more than 2 consecutive schedules without
prior notice or arrangement shall be a ground for termination of regular
hemodialysis schedule.
- In cases of emergency dialysis, acute renal failure cases and regular
hemodialysis patients of the unit are given top priority. New patients
who are diagnosed as CRF and who need immediate hemodialysis should
follow statement # 5.
- The resident in charge with the Nephro consultant should evaluate
the frequency of hemodialysis procedure regularly.
- If the Nephro physician decides to increase the frequency of hemodialysis
session of a particular patient but there's no available time slot
, the patient is temporarily advised to have his additional dialysis
session in other private dialysis center until such time that he
will be accomodated.
- Hemodialysis nurse should bill all patient every dialysis session.
In case of ARF patients, statement of account must be attached to patient's
chart and can be settled upon discharge.
- Official receipt must be recorded on the patient chart and logbook
intended for it.
